Vladimir Zhdankin

Vladimir Zhdankin is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he leads the Zhdankin Group. He received his Ph.D. and B.S. in Physics from UW-Madison in 2015 and 2011, respectively. His career includes postdoctoral appointments as a NASA Einstein Postdoctoral Fellow (2018-2021) and Flatiron Research Fellow (2021-2023).

Research Interests:

• Theoretical and computational plasma physics
• Relativistic plasma turbulence and instabilities
• Nonthermal particle acceleration and radiative processes
• Nonequilibrium statistical mechanics of collisionless plasmas
• Coherent structures in astrophysical systems
