Vladimir Arkadyevich Bessonov

Vladimir Arkadyevich Bessonov is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), where he has been working since 1994 with 38 years of scientific and teaching experience. He serves as Head of the Department of Analysis of Real Sector Industries and Foreign Trade at the Institute "Development Center" and as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the HSE Publishing House's Editorial Board for the mass media journal "Higher School of Economics Economic Journal".

His research focuses on analysis of socio-economic processes, Russian economy, economic growth, and inflation. Bessonov has made significant contributions to the field of economic statistics, particularly in the areas of price statistics, measurement of inflation, and macroeconomic dynamics in transitional economies. His work often addresses methodological issues in economic measurement and the challenges of statistical systems in Russia.

His recent publications demonstrate a continued focus on contemporary economic challenges including the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy, pandemic-related inflation dynamics, and the evolution of statistical methodologies. Bessonov's research consistently bridges theoretical economic concepts with practical statistical applications, making important contributions to both academic discourse and policy-relevant analysis.
