Dr. Vishal Arora is a Professor at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), specializing in Cardiology within the Department of Medicine. He holds an MD from MCG (2000) and a BS in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina (1996). His training includes fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease (MCG Chief Fellow), Interventional Cardiology (University of Virginia), and Advanced Peripheral Vascular Interventions (El Camino Hospital). He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Vascular Medicine.
Research Focus: Dr. Arora’s work centers on cardiovascular genomics, translational cardio-oncology, and interventional cardiology. His lab develops transparent transgenic zebrafish models to study cardiotoxicity of anti-cancer drugs and cardiac dysfunction in chronic inflammatory conditions. Key areas include coronary microvascular dysfunction, peripheral vascular disease, and novel revascularization technologies.
