Virginie Roy

Virginie Roy is a University Professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK), where she teaches contemporary dance techniques and the course "Theory in Artistic Practice". She has collaborated with international artists and institutions, including Daghda Dance Company, Philippe Arlaud, and festivals like Salzburg Festival and Teatro la Fenice. Her work spans contemporary dance, somatic practices, and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of movement, psychology, and spatial theory.

• Education: Diplôme from Centre National de la Danse (CND); Master's in Clinical Psychology and Art Therapy from University of Paris 8; Postgraduate diploma in Clinical and Health Psychology from University of Vienna.
• Research Interests: Contemporary dance, somatic knowledge, performative art, psychology of creativity, spatial theory, and investigation of psychic/architectural spaces through movement.

Her recent publications and projects focus on embodied cognition, urban spaces, and interdisciplinary collaborations. She has supervised theses at Sigmund Freud University and contributed to artistic research initiatives like The Art of Inclusion and Architectural Experience.
