Virginia Plummer

Virginia Plummer is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University, with affiliations to the Victorian Heart Institute (VHI) and a conjoint appointment at Peninsula Health. In this role, she facilitates clinical research, provides clinical leadership, and contributes to interprofessional research, teaching, and policy development.

Dr. Plummer actively supervises honours, master’s, and PhD students and has led major research projects, including an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant. She is involved in international collaborations, particularly in Indonesia and the Middle East, and contributes to policy through ethics committee leadership and editorial roles in prominent nursing journals. She is also engaged in professional development through activities such as conference presentations and non-HDR supervisions.

Labs and Teams: She collaborates with the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine, serves on the Human Research Ethics Committee at Peninsula Health, and contributes to editorial boards including BMC Nursing and International Emergency Nursing.
