Virginia Gardner Troy is a Professor of Art History at Berry College's Department of Art, part of the Visual and Performing Arts school. Her research focuses on twentieth-century art and design, with a particular emphasis on textiles and their role in modernism. She also specializes in Pre-Columbian art and architecture, exploring their influence on modern textile practices and pedagogy. Troy earned a Ph.D. from Emory University, an M.A. from the University of Washington, and a B.A. from Western Washington University.
Her teaching spans Early Twentieth Century Art, Art Theory, Nineteenth-Century Art, Renaissance Art, and courses on Women and Art. She supervises senior thesis projects and internship programs.
