Professor Vincent Michelot is a scholar of American political history at Sciences Po Lyon and Vice-President for International Relations at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon since 2023. His research focuses on U.S. institutions, constitutional law, and electoral dynamics. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud, he holds a doctorate from the University of Provence (1996) and habilitation from Sciences Po Paris (2004). He has held leadership roles, including Director of International Relations (2011–2014) and Director (2014–2016) at Sciences Po Lyon, and served as University Cooperation Attaché at the French Embassy in the U.S. (2019–2023). He co-authored works such as Obama's Record (2012) and Kennedy (2013). His research has supervised numerous PhD theses on topics like Tea Party movements and U.S. healthcare policy.
Research interests include transnational political trends, American conservatism, and the intersection of law and politics. He contributes to the Triangle Laboratory and engages in policy-related activities like advising the French government on international education programs.
