Vincent L. Wilson

Vincent L. Wilson is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Louisiana State University (LSU) and Director of the CC&E Undergraduate Programs. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Sonoma State College (1973), an M.S. in Physical Chemistry from UC Davis (1976), and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology from Oregon State University (1980). His research focuses on environmental toxicology, pesticide impact analysis, and public health, with notable work on Parkinson’s disease epidemiology and arsenic contamination.

Wilson teaches courses such as Environmental Toxicology, Undergraduate Research, and Toxicology I/IV. He received multiple teaching awards, including the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award (2016 & 2018) and the Joseph Lipsey Excellence in Teaching Award (2020). His recent publications analyze chemical safety culture in academia, lead pollution sources, and environmental risk assessment methodologies.

He actively engages in interdisciplinary research, collaborating with departments like Biological Sciences and Chemistry. His work bridges environmental science with policy, emphasizing practical solutions for public health challenges.
