About
Vincent Dunet is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM), University of Lausanne (UNIL), and a senior physician in the Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology Department at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). Appointed as Associate Professor on August 1, 2024, he also holds the position of Chief Physician of the emergency MRI unit at CHUV since 2023.
His research focuses on multimodal quantitative imaging using MRI and PET for non-invasive tissue characterization in oncology, neurology, cardiovascular, and traumatic pathologies, with a strong emphasis on neuroprognosis. He has been instrumental in establishing FET-PET as a reimbursed tool in brain tumor management in Switzerland.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in neuroimaging of disorders of consciousness, particularly in predicting recovery from coma using structural and functional MRI data. His work bridges clinical radiology with translational research in personalized medicine.
Scientific Awards:
- Peter Huber Prize, Swiss Society of Neuroradiology (2016)
- Jubilee Prize for Radiology, SGR-SSR (2018)
Advising and Grants: While no formal students are listed, Dr. Dunet has led significant research projects, including an SNSF-funded study (2021–2024) with Professor Karin Diserens on coma recovery prediction. He supervises research within his imaging unit and contributes to postgraduate training in neuroradiology.
Labs and Teams: He collaborates extensively with the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Oncology, Women-Mothers-Children, Interdisciplinary Centers at CHUV, the Center for Biomedical Imaging (CIBM), the Centre universitaire romand de médecine légale (CURML), and the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO).
