Prof. Vikrant Jain is a Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at IIT Gandhinagar and an affiliated Professor at the Environment, City, Society (EVS) laboratory of ENS Lyon (2022-2024). His research focuses on river science, geomorphic processes, and river responses to climate change and human activities. He leads Indian efforts in a Franco-Indian CNRS project on river-aquifer interactions in the Ganga and Rhône basins. Key roles include leadership in task 1 of the IRP CNRS project and collaboration with researchers such as Hervé Piégay and Benoit Belletti.
