Prof. Vihang R. Errunza is a distinguished Professor of Finance at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, holding the Bank of Montreal Chair in Finance and Banking. He earned his PhD in International Finance from UC Berkeley (1974) and has been a faculty member at McGill since 1976, following teaching at INCAE Business School in Central America.
His research focuses on international financial markets, corporate governance, cross-national risk analysis, and emerging markets. Notable contributions include the creation of the Emerging Markets Data Base (EMDB) at the IFC-World Bank, widely used in investment benchmarks. He has advised institutions like the World Bank, UN, and major investment firms, and his work is frequently cited in top journals.
