Victoria Shivy

Victoria Shivy, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology within Virginia Commonwealth University's College of Humanities and Sciences. Tenured faculty specializing in Counseling and Social Psychology, she maintains an active research agenda at the intersection of vocational psychology and human health.

Her research focuses on career development across diverse populations, particularly examining how trauma impacts career choice, work reengagement after life interruptions, and socioemotional aspects of employment. Shivy has extensive experience working with underserved groups including first-generation college students, low-SES individuals, underrepresented minorities, and formerly incarcerated persons.
