Victor W. Perez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. He specializes in environmental justice, health and illness sociology, and risk analysis, emphasizing mixed-methods research. A core faculty member at the Disaster Research Center (DRC), he also serves as a Policy Fellow at the Center for Community Research and Service (CCRS) and is affiliated with the Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN).
His teaching includes introductory sociology, quantitative methods, and courses he created, such as the Sociology of Diagnosis and Environment and Health. He recently developed 'Deconstructing Definitions: The Medicalization of Society' for the UD Honors College.
