Victor Pardo Castro

Victor Pardo Castro is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Physics, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He holds affiliations with the Faculty of Physics, Materials Institute (iMATUS), and the Strategic Grouping in Materials (AEMAT). His research focuses on ab initio calculations of quantum materials, including transition metal oxides, heterostructures, and topological materials. He completed his PhD in 2006 and held postdoctoral positions at UC Davis and the Ramón y Cajal Fellowship (2012–2016). His work explores electronic, magnetic, and thermoelectric properties of materials, with grants from the Spanish Ministry and regional governments. Notable achievements include predicting ferromagnetic behavior in CrTe2 and studying topological phases in oxide multilayers. He collaborates internationally, publishes in top journals like Physical Review B and Nature Physics, and advises graduate students.
