Victor M. Acosta is a Regents' Lecturer at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of New Mexico. His research focuses on experimental atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics, condensed-matter physics, and quantum information science. He leads the Acosta Lab at the Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM), specializing in quantum sensing using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond to study magnetic phenomena in physical, chemical, and biological systems.
Education: PhD in Physics from UC Berkeley (2011). Research interests include quantum sensing, biological/chemical imaging, and applications in biophysics. The lab is located at CHTM, 1313 Goddard St SE, Albuquerque, NM.
