Vicki Rosen is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Developmental Biology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). Since joining in 2001, she has held the Doctors Samuel and Ida Gelfand Professorship, an endowed position recognizing scholars in emerging scientific fields. A trailblazer, she was the first female full professor at HSDM and served as interim dean during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her research focuses on bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) and their roles in musculoskeletal tissue development, maintenance, and regeneration. As a principal faculty member of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, she contributes to advancing stem cell applications in developmental biology.
