Vicki Reitenauer

Vicki Reitenauer serves as an Adjunct Professor and Practicum Coordinator in the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department at Portland State University's School of Gender, Race & Nations. She plays a pivotal role in connecting academic theory with practical community engagement through the department's required practicum program.

• Coordinates the WS 409 practicum program requiring six credit hours of community-based work

Her research focuses on educational evaluation and critical pedagogy, particularly examining how assessment practices can serve as tools for programmatic reflection and improvement. She co-authored the influential 2018 publication "Assessment as Critical Programmatic Reflection" which details how intentional assessment practices tied to learning outcomes can meet accreditation expectations while fostering critical reflection.

Vicki Reitenauer helps students navigate practicum opportunities with organizations including Rose Haven, New Avenues for Youth, Outside In, Raphael House, Sexual Assault Resource Center, Q Center, and Planned Parenthood. Her work bridges feminist theory with practical application, supporting students in gaining professional experience while advancing social justice initiatives in the Portland community.
