Vicki Lens is Professor at CUNY's Silberman School of Social Work, specializing in socio-legal studies of administrative justice systems. Her research examines how low-income individuals navigate welfare bureaucracies and family courts, combining legal analysis with qualitative methods. Dr. Lens holds a JD from New York Law School and PhD from Yeshiva University.
Her award-winning book 'Poor Justice' analyzes how the poor experience legal systems. Current projects include studies of the Child Tax Credit's impact on families and asylum policy at the US border. She has received funding from NSF, Robin Hood Foundation, and National Science Foundation.
