Veronica Kroner

Veronica Kroner is a Lecturer for violin didactics and teaching practice at Mozarteum University Salzburg since March 2008, while simultaneously maintaining a teaching position at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt since 1992. She serves as head of a training class for violin, viola and chamber music, and has founded multiple musical ensembles including AMICI MUSICI youth orchestra (1995) and Duo Claviol (1984) with Adolf Hennig.

Her research interests focus on violin pedagogy and music education methodology, with special emphasis on historical performance practice. Kroner has developed innovative teaching approaches that integrate chamber music, orchestral playing, and theoretical understanding through creative learning games. Her work particularly emphasizes the connection between physical movement, sensory perception, and musical interpretation, creating a holistic approach to string instrument education.

Kroner has received recognition through her extensive performance career rather than formal academic awards. She has performed as concertmaster and soloist with prestigious ensembles including Concentus Musicus Wien, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with renowned conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Fabio Luisi.

As an educator, Kroner has mentored numerous students who have gone on to successful musical careers, including competition winners and professional orchestra members. She has developed specialized teaching programs including PÄDAGOGOGO/ARCOLINO, a didactics masterclass focusing on violin pedagogy, and has created innovative curriculum that integrates music theory with physical movement and sensory experiences.

Kroner directs multiple ensembles including AMICI MUSICI youth orchestra, which performs annually at Esterházy Palace's Haydn Hall, and Ensemble Stravagante, which specializes in Baroque music on historical instruments. Her educational philosophy emphasizes collaborative music-making, interpretation, movement, rhythmic confidence, and stylistic diversity across musical periods.
