Varvara Papazoglou

Varvara Papazoglou is a Teaching Professor at the University of Sheffield's School of Computer Science. She joined in 2023 and holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Piraeus (2017), an MA in Cognitive Studies from the University of Sheffield (2018), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the same institution.

Her research focuses on multidisciplinary approaches in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Music Information Retrieval (MIR). Key interests include information extraction, text complexity, text generation, lyrics-based music recommendation, and user studies in MIR. She is affiliated with the Natural Language Processing research group.

Publications include a 2021 paper on topic classification of song lyrics. No scientific awards or grants are explicitly listed. She previously worked as a Programming Instructor for Code First Girls and a Teaching Associate at the University of Nottingham.
