Vanya Maneva

Vanya Maneva serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Urban Planning, Faculty of Architecture, University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria. She holds a Doctorate in Territorial and Landscape Planning and Urban Planning (2015) and a Master of Architecture (2007), both from UACEG.

Dr. Maneva's research centers on energy efficiency in urban planning within climate change adaptation and sustainable development frameworks. Her work addresses residential area challenges, production territories, and engineering energy systems in Bulgarian urban contexts, with extensive case studies on Sofia's spatial planning. She examines governance impacts, market economy influences, and innovative energy-saving measures for building renovation.

Analysis of her 11 publications (2012-2023) reveals consistent focus on energy-efficient urban solutions, particularly residential areas in Sofia. Recent work explores production territories and governance challenges, highlighting intersections between urban form, energy systems, and sustainability goals in transitioning economies.

Dr. Maneva actively participates in national and international research initiatives:

• "For energy-efficient and smart public buildings" project under EEA Grants (2015-2016)
