Vanita Reddy is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and affiliated with Women’s and Gender Studies at Texas A&M University's College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on race, sexuality, and gender in transnational contexts, particularly within South Asian American and global diasporic communities. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California-Davis (2009), an M.A. (2002), and a B.A. from Trinity University (1998).
Her work examines cultural identity, social belonging, and political community through analyses of literature, film, and visual art. Key research areas include transnational literatures, queer theory, feminist thought, and critical race studies.
