Vanessa Rosa is an Associate Professor of Latinx Studies and Co-Chair of the Department of Critical Race and Political Economy at Mount Holyoke College. Her research focuses on race and racism in urban contexts, particularly examining housing policy, community organizing, and structural inequality.

Her work investigates the intersection of race, class, and urban revitalization, notably in Toronto’s public housing projects and New York City’s Puerto Rican communities. Rosa's research emphasizes anti-racist pedagogy, disability justice, and transformative social movements.
Rosa’s recent publications span topics in urban sociology, critical race theory, and Latinx studies. She received the 2024 ASA Robert E. Park Outstanding Book Award Honorable Mention for her book Precarious Constructions, held the 2017-2019 Duke University-Mellon SITPA Fellowship, and the 2020-2023 Dr. Virginia Apgar Endowed Chair.
