Valerie Krupp is a Professor of Music Education at the Mainz University of Music since 2017 and has served as its Rector since April 2023. She holds a visiting professorship at NORD University (2024-2026) for the EU Horizon project Dialoguing Arts. Her work focuses on cultural education, participation equity, teaching quality, and social justice in music education contexts.

Recent publications examine Deeper Learning pedagogy, pluriliteracies in CLIL instruction, and participation barriers in music education. Awarded the Sigrid-Abel-Struth Prize (2017) for her dissertation. She co-edits the journal Beiträge Empirischer Musikpädagogik and serves on boards of the Mainz School Music Network and Center for School, Educational, and Higher Education Research.
