Valerie Fuchs

Valerie Fuchs is a faculty member at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she serves as a Program Mentor. She earned a B. Arch. in 1990 from the University of Kentucky and an MFA in 1998 from SAIC.

Her work and teaching focus on the intersection of contemporary mediated experiences with themes like nature, time, and human connection. She actively mentors students, encouraging engagement with local and national contemporary art communities.

Valerie has exhibited internationally, including at the 21c Museum, American Embassy in Stockholm, and BELEF Art Festival in Belgrade. Her publications appear in Beauty Unlimited, Pitch Magazine, and LEO, with critical writing featured in Art Papers and American Theatre.
