Valentin Robu

Valentin Robu is Professor in Artificial Intelligence for Smart, Decentralised Energy Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology's Department of Electrical Engineering, Electrical Energy Systems group. He maintains a concurrent position as Senior Researcher in the Intelligent and Autonomous Systems group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), dedicating 20% of his time to TU Eindhoven.

Robu's research focuses on multi-agent systems and distributed AI techniques to solve challenges in evolving electricity grids. This includes decentralized scheduling of electric vehicle charging, integrating renewable resources, and demand-side management techniques using game-theoretic models.

His publications address key issues in sustainable energy systems, including ethical sourcing of materials for renewable technologies, blockchain applications for decentralized energy trading, and robotics/AI solutions for offshore energy infrastructure maintenance.
