Vahur Rooni

Vahur Rooni is a Research Fellow at the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EULS), affiliated with the Institute of Technology's Department of Agricultural and Production Engineering. He holds a PhD (2022) and MSc (2015) from EULS, focusing on biomass pretreatment technologies. His research centers on developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods for converting lignocellulosic waste into biofuels and chemicals.

• Lead investigator (€320k) on the gasification-gas fermentation platform project (2024–2028)

Supervises doctoral and master’s students in biomass processing and biorefinery engineering. Active in international conferences and peer-reviewed publications since 2016.
