VEDAT YORUCU

Prof. Vedat Yorucu is the Chair of the Department of Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Business & Economics. He holds a PhD from the University of Leicester, UK, and has extensive academic experience in both teaching and research. His research focuses on economic development, small island economies, tourism economics, energy economics, and applied econometrics. He has supervised numerous theses, including studies on energy markets, construction economics, and geopolitical conflicts in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Prof. Yorucu’s recent research explores topics such as political risks in construction, energy policy in Europe, and sustainable development challenges. His work often addresses regional issues, such as Cyprus’s hydrocarbon resources and land disputes. He is actively involved in academic administration and has contributed to policy discussions on energy transformation and environmental sustainability.
