VASILATOS EVANGELOS

Vasilatos Evangelos is a Professor at the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) since August 2021. Previously, he served as an Assistant and Associate Professor at AUEB, starting his academic career in 1999 as a Lecturer at the University of Ioannina. His research focuses on macroeconomic theory, dynamic general equilibrium (DSGE) models, public finance, economic growth, and political economy. He teaches courses such as Macroeconomic Theory I, Economic Policy Theory at the undergraduate level, and Mathematics, Dynamic Macroeconomics at the graduate level.

He holds a PhD in Economics from AUEB, with prior degrees in Econometrics and Operations Research from the Department of Statistics and Informatics (AUEB) and specialization in Economic Statistics and Econometrics from AUEB's postgraduate studies.

As director of the Econometrics Laboratory and a research associate at the Economic Policy Studies Laboratory (EPSL), he actively contributes to research. Since 2021, he serves as secretary of the Association of Southern European Economic Theorists (ASSET). His work has been presented globally at universities, research centers, and conferences, with publications in journals like European Economic Review and Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control.
