Víctor Homar Santaner

Víctor Homar Santaner is a Professor in the Meteorology Group at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). His research focuses on Mediterranean climate systems, severe weather predictability, and high-resolution ensemble forecasting. Currently supervising two doctoral students, he has contributed to understanding flash floods, secondary cyclones, and climate change impacts through over 65 peer-reviewed articles.

Recent work explores Liouville equation solutions for ensemble prediction limits, convection-permitting models in Maritime Continent studies, and quantile–quantile calibration of regional climate projections. His team's hydraulic simulations of the 2018 Sant Llorenç flood demonstrate the low predictability of extreme convective systems in data-scarce Mediterranean regions.
