Uy Hoang

Dr Uy Hoang is a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the Clinical Informatics & Health Outcomes Research Group within the Section of Clinical Medicine Ageing. His work focuses on epidemiological support and public health perspectives for chronic and infectious diseases. He holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from King’s College London, an MPH from Yale University, and specialized training in public health from the Oxford Deanery.

His research emphasizes the use of large, routinely collected datasets to study chronic physical and mental illnesses. Collaborations include work with Professors Michael Goldacre (University of Oxford), Gyles Glover (University of Durham), and Rob Stewart (King’s College London), focusing on health record linkage and electronic medical records in mental health research.

Dr Hoang has taught mental health epidemiology in MPH programs at Imperial College and King’s College London, with experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students in public health. His publications address topics such as air pollution’s health impacts and challenges in measuring children’s primary healthcare.
