Uwe Jannsen is a Professor at the University of Regensburg since 1999. He previously held positions as a Full Professor at the University of Cologne (1990-1999) and as a Research Professor at the Max-Planck Institute for Mathematics (1989-1991). His research focuses on advanced mathematical theories including number theory, algebraic geometry, and cohomology.

His scholarly work spans resolution of singularities, motives, Galois cohomology, and p-adic Hodge theory. Current projects include extending resolution of singularities to three-dimensional schemes and developing new p-torsion cohomology theories with J.-M. Fontaine.
