Uwe Beffert

Dr. Uwe Beffert is Research Assistant Professor of Biology at Boston University, investigating genetic risk factors in Alzheimer's disease, particularly the role of apolipoprotein E (apoE) isoforms. His lab studies apoE receptor signaling pathways and their impact on synaptic plasticity, neuronal survival, and brain development.

Additional research examines how lipoprotein receptors regulate neuronal migration and connections to neurodevelopmental disorders like autism. Current projects focus on apoER2 splicing variants and their implications for AD pathology.
