Ute Clement

Ute Clement serves as President of the University of Kassel since October 2021, following her role as Vice President for graduate support from 2015-2021. She holds a professorship in Vocational and Business Education at the university since 2003 and founded the Kassel Institute for Sustainability.

Education

• Completed habilitation in 2002 at University of Karlsruhe with thesis on knowledge and experience in vocational education

Research Focus: Combines vocational education theory with sustainability science. Her leadership in establishing the Kassel Institute for Sustainability drives interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable development through educational frameworks and business practice integration.

Administrative Leadership: Oversaw graduate support systems as Vice President, expanding research funding access and mentorship programs. As President, she directs university-wide strategic initiatives with emphasis on sustainable institutional development.

Organizational Impact: Founded the Kassel Institute for Sustainability, creating collaborative platforms for researchers across disciplines to address climate resilience and sustainable business models through educational innovation.
