Usman Alim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary, and Director of the Data Science Program. He holds a dual Bachelor's in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Rochester (2001), an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology (2007), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University (2012). His research focuses on global illumination, physically-based modeling, and signal processing applications in computer graphics and visualization.
