Urte Regler

Urte Regler serves as a Lecturer in the Directing Program at the August Everding Bavarian Theatre Academy since the winter semester of 2018/19. She maintains an active parallel career as a freelance director in Munich's independent theater scene since 2014 and previously held significant directing positions at Landestheater Coburg from 2008 to 2014.

Her academic foundation was established through studies in Musicology and Romance studies at the University of Rostock, followed by professional experience in the university's Continuing Education and Distance Learning department.

Specializing in theatre and opera direction, Ms. Regler has developed expertise across multiple performance domains with particular emphasis on youth-oriented productions. Her directorial portfolio includes notable works such as the children's opera "The Chinese Nightingale" at Landestheater Coburg's main house, Hans Krása's "Brundibár", and Benjamin Britten's "The Turn of the Screw". She has collaborated extensively with prominent directors including Dr. Peter Brenner, Alessandro Talevi, and Konstanze Lauterbach, demonstrating versatility in both classical and contemporary music theatre repertoire.

As an educator in the Directing Program, she integrates over fifteen years of professional stage experience into her pedagogical approach, emphasizing practical application of directing techniques while maintaining artistic integrity in theatrical productions.
