Ursula Knott

Prof. Ursula Knott is a Visiting Professor of Art Therapy and Clinical Art Therapy at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences for Social Work in Berlin, where she heads the BA Art Therapy/Clinical Art Therapy program. Her expertise focuses on applying art and design therapy in psychosomatic and psychotherapeutic contexts, particularly for managing illness, crises, and group interventions. She is a certified European Psychotherapist (ECP) and holds permission to practice under the Heilpraktikergesetz (HPG).

Research interests include methodological approaches in art therapy, material-based interventions, and psychotherapeutic frameworks in group settings. She leads the Institute DAGTP and actively engages with professional bodies such as the German Association for Art and Design Therapy (DFKGT) and the Standing Conference of Academically Training Art Therapists in Germany (SKaKs).

Her career spans over three decades, including roles as Director of the Institute DAGTP and clinical work at institutions like the Brandenburg Clinic Bernau. She has contributed to program development in art therapy education and continues to advance clinical practice through academic and professional leadership.
