Unković Nikola

Unković Nikola is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Algology and Mycology, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. He specializes in mycology, focusing on micromycetes ecology, fungi in extreme habitats, biodeterioration of cultural heritage, and biocontrol applications.

• Basic academic studies (2007-2010), Master's (2010-2012), and PhD (2012-2018) in Biology at the University of Belgrade.
• His research addresses fungal roles in cultural heritage preservation and natural product-based antifungal strategies.

He leads projects such as PROTECTA 6066210 (2020-2023) funded by Serbia's Science Fund and bilateral collaborations with Slovenia and Hungary. His work intersects mycology, environmental science, and cultural heritage conservation.

At the Faculty of Biology, he has progressed from Research Intern (2014-2015) to Senior Research Associate (2024) and holds a permanent position as Assistant Professor since 2023.
