Umar Anjum

Umar Anjum is a Lecturer in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. He specializes in Urdu language instruction, translation, and South Asian cultural studies, with a focus on Urdu pulp fiction and populism in Pakistan.

Academic Experience:

• Teaching experience at Michigan State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Lahore School of Economics, Forman Christian College, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
• Specialized Urdu pedagogy training at UC Berkeley
• Contributed to UC Berkeley's study abroad program in Pakistan
