Ulrike Sturm

Dr. Ulrike Sturm is Head of the Institute for Sociocultural Development and Vice Dean at Lucerne School of Social Work. With a Dr.-Ing. in architecture and MA in philosophy, she leads research in sustainable spatial development and community engagement.

Her work focuses on participatory community planning, sustainable neighborhood development, urban acoustics, and renewable energy cooperatives. Research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to spatial justice, circular economy integration, and quality of life in built environments.

Publications address community-based energy solutions, acoustic design in urban spaces, and transdisciplinary research methods. Recent work examines energy cooperation models and acoustic optimization of semi-enclosed urban areas.

Sturm serves as President of Forum Landschaft Alpen Pärke (SCNAT) and contributes to European working groups on gender-responsive spatial planning.
