Ulrich Mansmann is a Professor at the Medical Faculty of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU Munich), where he serves as Director of the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry, and Epidemiology (IBE). He has held this position since 2005.

Mansmann’s research focuses on biostatistical methods, particularly in modeling complex event data, statistical approaches in molecular medicine, clinical trial design and evaluation, and epidemiological applications. His work spans longitudinal data analysis, genomics, proteomics, and public health statistics, with a strong emphasis on translational research.
He supervises numerous PhD and Master’s theses, including topics such as statistical models for longitudinal count data, RNA-sequencing in AML, and medication safety through clinical pharmacists. His working group specializes in biometrics and bioinformatics, aligning with his leadership in methodological research.
Key projects under his guidance include BioMed-S, McHealth, and HaematoSys, which integrate statistical innovation with biomedical challenges.
