Ulrich Leopold is a Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University and a Senior Research Associate in Geocomputation at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). He holds an MSc in Physical Geography and Geo Sciences from the University of Trier, Germany, and conducted PhD research at the Universities of Amsterdam and Wageningen, Netherlands, focusing on 'Spatial uncertainty analysis of integrated assessment models'.
His research spans geospatial modeling, geostatistics, uncertainty analysis, and the development of decision support systems for environmental policy challenges. He has led work packages in European projects MUSIC and QUICS and pioneered the iGUESS framework for urban emission reduction, energy planning, flood management, and city logistics.
