Ulf Axelson

Ulf Axelson is Professor of Finance and Private Equity at the London School of Economics, where he also serves as Director of the Financial Markets Group and Director of the Masters of Finance and Private Equity program.

Research focuses on private equity, corporate finance, security design, and auction theory. Seminal work examines the financial structure of private equity firms and determinants of leverage in buyouts.

Awards include:

• Brattle Group Distinguished Paper Prize (2015, 2014)
• Brattle Group First Prize Paper (2009)

Teaches corporate finance and private equity courses, and has held positions at Stockholm School of Economics and University of Chicago.
