Ukpai Eze

Dr Ukpai Eze is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director of the MSc Biomedical Science Programme at Chester Medical School, University of Chester, UK. He has extensive experience in teaching, research, and leadership across Nigerian and UK universities, including Ebonyi State University, Queen's University Belfast, University of Leeds, and Coventry University. His expertise integrates clinical pathology, environmental toxicology, and biomedical education.

Dr Eze’s research focuses on endocrine disruption mechanisms of environmental and food-borne contaminants (e.g., mycotoxins, pesticides) in human health, particularly reproductive and developmental toxicity and metabolic diseases like obesity. His work also addresses antimicrobial resistance (AMR) epidemiology and the antimicrobial potential of plant extracts and essential oils. He employs in vitro models and epidemiological studies for these investigations.

He has contributed to understanding AMR as a global health threat, emphasizing molecular mechanisms, stewardship, and alternative therapies. His recent research trends involve endocrine disruption, epigenetics, and food safety applications.
