Ufuk Akcigit

Ufuk Akcigit is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Economics, where he has been affiliated since 2009. He also holds the Arnold C. Harberger Professor of Economics title at the University of Chicago and serves as a Research Professor at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH). Additionally, he co-directs the Growth Academy and maintains affiliations with the National Bureau of Economic Research and Centre for Economic Policy Research.

His research focuses on macroeconomics, economic growth, technological change, productivity, firm dynamics, and the economics of innovation. He earned his PhD from MIT and has contributed extensively to understanding innovation-driven growth and firm-level dynamics.
