Túlio Zille is an Assistant Professor of Government at Bowdoin College. He holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from Vassar College. His interdisciplinary research spans development, political ecology, decolonial theory, and social movements, with geographical focus on Latin America and the Global South.
Zille's current book project examines the Belo Monte dam project in the Brazilian Amazon, analyzing how development paradigms reflect modern worldviews contributing to ecological crises while exploring alternative epistemologies from marginalized communities. His teaching covers global political ecology, race in international relations, and indigenous political thought.
