Tzarina Prater is an Associate Professor and Chair of the English and Media Studies Department at Bentley University. She has served as Coordinator of the English Major since 2016 and actively participates in institutional governance through multiple committees, including the Academic Leadership Committee and Student Experience Committee.

Her research focuses on Caribbean diasporic literature, techno-Orientalism in speculative fiction, postcolonial cultural memory, and transnational identity formation. She has pioneered digital humanities approaches to analyzing Caribbean cultural production and explored intersections between Chinese and Caribbean narratives.
Her recent publications examine Caribbean digital diasporas, technocultural representations of Asian bodies, and post-indenture identity politics. These works demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement with literary theory, postcolonial critique, and digital media studies.
She has received faculty development awards and contributes extensively to academic service through leadership roles in the English and Media Studies Department and participation in diversity initiatives across Bentley University.
