Dr. Tyler Smith is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology at the University of Missouri's College of Education & Human Development. His research focuses on improving family-school partnerships, developing school-based interventions for rural communities, and advancing methodological approaches through meta-analysis.
As Principal Investigator of an IES-funded Development and Innovation grant, he is creating training curricula to enhance teachers' communication skills for effective family engagement. Additional research examines parent involvement, school consultation models, and rural mental health service delivery.
Dr. Smith earned his PhD in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed an IES postdoctoral fellowship at MU. He is affiliated with the Missouri Prevention Science Institute and Family-School Community Alliance.
