Twan A.J. van Hooff is an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Unit Building Physics and Services within the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on experimental and numerical modeling of ventilation flows, heat/mass transfer, and climate change adaptation in buildings. He holds a double doctorate from TU/e (2012, with honors) and KU Leuven (2012), and has published 60 ISI journal papers (18 as first author) and 90 conference papers.
His research spans Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), natural ventilation, stadium aerodynamics, and airborne infection control in buildings. He leads projects like NudgeFlow (next-gen residential ventilation) and MIST P20-35 (airborne infection mitigation), and contributes to pandemic preparedness via projects like S3 (safe sports events) and CLAIRE (clean air solutions).
