Tugba Basaran is the Director of the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement at the University of Cambridge. She holds a PhD in International Studies from Cambridge and has held visiting positions at Harvard Law, Princeton, Sciences-Po, and the Institute for Advanced Studies. Her academic career includes tenure as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kent.
- Research Focus: Intersects politics, law, and society, examining global governance practices, legal borders, geographies of exclusion, and the production of indifference in security discourses.
- Geographic Expertise: Worked in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe over a 25-year career, addressing issues in developing and post-conflict countries.
